In Town: Places in Polish
These are the 8 words for places in town that the Jasny Polski course teaches first — the ones that turn up in your first real conversations. Each comes with a sentence, so you can see how the word behaves rather than only what it means.
How to use these words
Places change their ending depending on whether you are there or going there. Being somewhere is w and the locative: w sklepie, w kinie, w szkole. Going somewhere is do and the genitive: do sklepu, do kina, do szkoły. Some places take na instead: na piętrze, na uniwersytecie, na poczcie — so learn the preposition together with the place.
