Days of the Week and Time in Polish

These are the 26 words for days of the week and time that the Jasny Polski course teaches first — the ones that turn up in your first real conversations. Each comes with a sentence, so you can see how the word behaves rather than only what it means.

How to use these words

Days of the week are written with a lower-case letter. "On Monday" is w and the accusative, so the feminine days change: w środę, w sobotę, w niedzielę, while the masculine ones stay: w poniedziałek, w piątek. Before wtorek the w becomes we, because w wtorek cannot be said: we wtorek.

Nigdy (never) keeps the nie on its verb — Polish uses double negation: Nigdy nie oglądam telewizji.
